White sand, palms, the blue-green clear sea, and coral reefs. Kenya’s tropical Indian Ocean coastline is well-known for its beach resorts in Malindi, Watamu, Kilifi, and Diani. Its rich past is reflected in today’s architecture (the settlement of Lamu is a world heritage site) and cuisine.
There is a wide variety of activities on offer: including sailing, kite surfing, deep-sea fishing, or taking a trip on a traditional dhow to the coral reefs.
Close by are wildlife reserves and national parks such as the Shimba Hill, Arabuo Sokoke, and in the hinterlands the East and West Tsavo National Parks.
