Saruni Samburu offers a modern and exclusive safari experince in northern Kenya, a true wilderness area. It is located located on the Kalama Conservancy, neighbouring the Samburu National Reserve, in Kenya’s wild North. It borders also Ngutuk Ongiron to the west, Namunyak Community Conservation Trust to the north and Sera Community Wildlife Conservation to the north east, the different conservancies that are under the umbrella of the Northern Rangelands Trust. These rangelands remain making then one of the few places left that allows for the free movement of wildlife across a vast area. Kalama itself represents a crucial migratory corridor between the northern and southern conservation areas of this spectacular region.

Surrounded by a 95,000 hectares private reserve and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint, Saruni Samburu’s 6 villas enjoy spectacular views, and its two infinity swimming pools. The family and single villas are all ensuite and have spacious living rooms (with fridges and wi-fi) and verandahs, with fireplaces for chillier evenings.

The Saruni Samburu safari experience can be as adventurous or relaxing as its guests wish, and for all ages. Game drives may be taken through the Kalama Conservancy, Buffalo Springs National Park and Samburu National Park. Night drives are available through the Kalama Conservancy. Guided bush walks and trek walks up Mount Ololokwe, the Samburu tribe’s sacred mountain, sundowners and bush meals, cultural village visits to the local village called Kiltimany, and visits to local caves featuring historic Rock Art. Warriors Academy provides special courses in bush skills and animal tracking for children, and the Samburu Wellbeing Space for massage and spa treatments.

Access to Saruni Samburu is through the Kalama airstrip or the Oryx Samburu Airstrip, with daily flights from Nairobi (Wilson Airport), Lewa and Meru.
